Employee Interviews

The Tim Johnston Interview

Shelby: What are your favorite and least favorite tasks that you do for Anti-body?

Tim: Favorite task? Hmm, I think that would have to be the bottling part of making lotions. There's something soothing about pushing a button and watching lotion pour into a bottle. Collaborating on different problems and accomplishing tasks together has a fun and efficient feel to it. My least favorite task would definitely be shrink-wrapping bath bombs....

I'll often clean things, package products, stock supplies, and help with other various products. All in all, working for Anti-Body keeps you on yourTim Working toes. It can get pretty fun at times.

Shelby: How does fair trade play into your life?

Tim: I think it's really neat to be able to work for a business that actively plays a role in Fair Trade. And it gives me a sense of pride that my job is somehow helping people who are less fortunate than me.

I feel I'm also more aware of Fair Trade now that I have this job. In fact, before

I started working for Anti-Body, I wouldn't have known a thing about Fair Trade. Now I'm able to explain to people what exactly Fair Trade is - that's a neat feeling in itself. As for Fair Trade, I think it's a great concept and I love the idea behind it. It really is "fair".

Shelby: What are your plans for the future?

Tim: You know, I'm not really sure. I guess I better get thinking seeing as college is just a year or two away depending on when I decide to take the plunge. I had a passion for the military but now I simply have a passion for life itself. I'd like to have a job that I enjoy and in which I can support myself, but one that actually means something. I really enjoy working for Anti-Body, so maybe we'll see where it goes from there.
